Patient Collections Research Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, compile, and update patient demographic data and necessary information for EMS claim resolution and payment processing.

• Acquire a working knowledge of Digitech’s internal departments and their workflows.

• Collaborate with billing, collections, and quality assurance teams to address account discrepancies and gather missing information.

• Engage with hospitals, insurance providers, attorneys, and patients to obtain or verify documentation and pertinent details.

• Execute thorough research using hospital systems, payer portals, and both public and proprietary databases.

• Record findings and updates in patient accounts while ensuring complete, current, and HIPAA-compliant documentation.

• Handle mail and email correspondence in a professional and courteous manner.

• Sustain productivity and accuracy while managing a high volume of research tasks and adhering to deadlines.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Previous experience in public interactions or managing sensitive information is advantageous.

• Quick learner who is comfortable asking questions and seeking clarification to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Capability to independently oversee all aspects of the job role, including essential goals and business practices, in a remote setting.

• Ability to manage a substantial workload and meet deadlines efficiently.

• Awareness of HIPAA compliance standards.

• Proficient in navigating hospital systems, payer portals, and both public and proprietary databases.
