Infrastructure Deployment Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee infrastructure deployment projects from initiation to production, encompassing rack-and-stack, cabling, provisioning, and documentation.

• Collaborate with Data Center Infrastructure, Procurement, Cloud Infrastructure, and Network Infrastructure teams to address project requirements.

• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), deployment documentation, rack elevations, and cable matrices.

• Design and support automation and scripting initiatives to enhance deployment consistency and efficiency.

• Ensure compatibility and readiness of compute, storage, network hardware, and supporting data center power infrastructure prior to deployment.

• Contribute to product enablement by deploying and validating hardware for new offerings.

• Keep Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools (NetBox/Nlyte) and tracking tools updated to accurately reflect deployed infrastructure.

• Assist with remote site work by creating documentation and guidance for Data Center technicians and remote hands.

• Travel occasionally to data centers for project execution, audits, or support.

• Manage company data in accordance with company agreements, procedures, and policies.

• Complete annual compliance training and policy acknowledgments.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent relevant work experience is required.

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in deploying and managing infrastructure in service-provider or enterprise-scale data centers.

• Proven experience leading technical infrastructure projects and coordinating efforts across multiple internal teams.

• Strong knowledge of VMware, Cisco UCS, Cohesity, HPE, or similar service provider scale hardware and software platforms.

• Proficiency in scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, or Ansible is preferred.

• Capable of managing BOMs, cable matrices, and infrastructure documentation from initial build through to production deployment.

• Familiarity with the physical deployment and maintenance of hardware in a data center operations environment.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation abilities.

• Able to travel occasionally for major site builds or upgrades and capable of lifting 50 lbs when onsite.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United Kingdom without the need for visa sponsorship.
