Infrastructure Deployment Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee the deployment of infrastructure projects from initiation to production, which includes rack-and-stack, cabling, provisioning, and documentation.

• Coordinate project requirements among Data Center Infrastructure, Procurement, Cloud Infrastructure, and Network Infrastructure teams.

• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), deployment documentation, rack elevations, and cable matrices.

• Design and support automation and scripting initiatives to enhance deployment consistency and efficiency.

• Confirm the compatibility and readiness of computing, storage, network hardware, and supporting data center power infrastructure prior to deployment.

• Engage in product enablement by deploying and validating hardware for new offerings.

• Ensure that DCIM tools (NetBox / Nlyte) and tracking tools are updated to accurately reflect the deployed infrastructure.

• Assist remote site operations by creating documentation and guidance for Data Center technicians and remote hands.

• Occasionally travel to data centers for project execution, audits, or support.

• Manage company data and information according to company agreements, procedures, and policies.

• Adhere to company policies, data privacy practices, annual compliance training, and policy acknowledgments.

• Undertake additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant work experience is required.

• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in deploying and managing infrastructure within service-provider or enterprise-scale data centers.

• Proven experience leading technical infrastructure projects and coordinating across various internal teams.

• Strong working knowledge of VMware, Cisco UCS, Cohesity, HPE, or similar service provider scale hardware and software platforms.

• Proficiency in scripting or automation tools (such as PowerShell, Python, Ansible) is preferred.

• Ability to manage BOMs, cable matrices, and infrastructure documentation from initial build through to production deployment.

• Familiarity with the physical deployment and upkeep of hardware in a data center operations environment.

• Excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, and documentation.

• Willingness to travel on a limited basis for major site builds or upgrades and the capability to lift 50 lbs when onsite.

• Must have legal eligibility to work in the United Kingdom without the need for visa sponsorship.
