Infrastructure Deployment Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee infrastructure deployment projects from initiation to production, which includes rack-and-stack, cabling, provisioning, and documentation.

• Collaborate with Data Center Infrastructure, Procurement, Cloud Infrastructure, and Network Infrastructure teams to address project requirements.

• Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), deployment documentation, rack layouts, and cable matrices.

• Design and assist in automation and scripting initiatives to enhance deployment uniformity and efficiency.

• Confirm the compatibility and readiness of compute, storage, network hardware, and the supporting data center power infrastructure.

• Install and validate hardware for new product launches.

• Ensure that DCIM tools, such as NetBox and Nlyte, and tracking tools are kept up to date.

• Create documentation and guidance for data center technicians and remote hands.

• Occasionally travel to data centers for project execution, audits, or support.

• Adhere to company ethics, values, data-handling agreements, procedures, policies, privacy protocols, compliance training, and policy acknowledgments.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant work experience is required.

• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in deploying and managing infrastructure within service-provider or enterprise-scale data centers.

• Proven experience in leading technical infrastructure projects and coordinating efforts across multiple internal teams.

• Strong working knowledge of VMware, Cisco UCS, Cohesity, HPE, or comparable service provider-level hardware and software platforms.

• Preferred proficiency in scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Ansible).

• Capable of managing BOMs, cable matrices, and infrastructure documentation from the initial build through to production deployment.

• Familiarity with the physical deployment and maintenance of hardware within a data center operations environment.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for major site constructions or upgrades and capable of lifting 50 lbs while onsite.

• Must have legal eligibility to work in the United Kingdom without visa sponsorship.
