This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee MCHC’s IT infrastructure, encompassing systems, networks, telecommunications, hardware, software, and cloud services across various locations.
• Ensure the reliability and security of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, servers, virtual workstations, laptops, mobile devices, and VoIP environments.
• Administer cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, endpoint protection, encryption, multi-factor authentication (MFA), patch management, access control, and incident response.
• Enforce HIPAA Security Rule and HITECH safeguards while addressing risks identified through Security Risk Assessments.
• Maintain and evaluate IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.
• Coordinate technology recovery efforts during outages or emergencies.
• Manage databases, data architecture, backups, integrations, and secure data exchange protocols, including HL7/FHIR and other clinical interfaces.
• Lead and nurture the Information Systems team, serving as the point of escalation for complex technical challenges.
• Oversee IT vendors, software licensing, equipment procurement, documentation, audit support, and provide infrastructure and security recommendations.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent technical experience, or 3–5 years of IT management experience with a minimum of 2 years in a regulated healthcare environment.
• At least 2 years of experience in managing teams, including involvement in hiring and directing day-to-day work.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, HITECH, the HIPAA Security Rule, and healthcare compliance standards.
• Comprehensive understanding of IT systems, applications, databases, financial systems, networks, telecommunications, hardware, and software.
• Proven troubleshooting, problem-solving, and crisis management skills.
• Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365/Entra ID, VMware/Hyper-V, and best practices in infrastructure and security.
• Capability to work with routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, VoIP, and network functionalities.
• Experience in supporting cybersecurity programs aligned with NIST/CIS frameworks, including EDR/MDR solutions, MFA, patch management, and Security Risk Assessments (SRA).
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field with 6 years of networking experience in a healthcare setting, or 15+ years of equivalent healthcare IT experience in a leadership capacity.
• Preferred: Prior supervisory or management experience.
• Preferred: Experience in an FQHC, community health center, or other regulated healthcare setting.
• Preferred: Familiarity with EHR/PM platforms and external Health Information Exchange (HIE) interfaces.
