Industrial Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance operational processes from the design phase through the execution of build-to-order packaging equipment.

• Analyze and optimize processes to boost profitability by focusing on efficiency, lead-time reduction, and labor savings.

• Conduct operational process design and define requirements alongside functional teams.

• Educate, instruct, and provide training and resources on business systems and processes, including DFMA, ERP, and flow-line assembly.

• Offer divisional support for manufacturing operations, material flow, and the development of assembly stations.

• Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and tools to track operational efficiencies and reduce machine costs.

• Provide corrective actions and steps for process changes to address recurring issues.

• Plan, develop, and establish inventory control and job order procedures to align with production and customer demands.

• Collaborate with VP/General Managers and divisional leaders to create configurable equipment with optimized manufacturing processes.

• Develop and train divisional leaders on best practices in material management for flow-line manufacturing.

• Analyze and prioritize requests, identify existing or alternative solutions, and engage with corporate technical resources on enhancement requests.

• Take part in make/buy decisions concerning manufacturing components and assemblies.

• Enhance manufacturing efficiency through time studies, workflow analysis, space planning, and equipment layout optimization.

• Report directly to the Director of Supply Chain for the Secondary and Pharma Business Unit.

• Support and receive guidance from the business unit's Product Line Manager.

• Travel required: 40-50%.

• Bachelor's degree with a focus on Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.

• Over 7 years of relevant work experience.

• Experience in the manufacturing industry.

• Familiarity with SyteLine or other fully integrated ERP systems.

• Ability to extract and analyze data to support core business functions.

• Experience in project implementation and solution engineering.

• Capable of multi-tasking and working independently.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Excellent customer service orientation and a high level of professionalism.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.

• Competence in taking strategic direction from executive management.

• Willingness to travel 40-50% of the time.

• Proximity to a major airport is required.

• Must be able to travel frequently.
