Industrial Maintenance – Operations Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct technical evaluations, functional testing, and audits of material handling equipment, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, as well as industrial facility infrastructure.

• Carry out thorough technical audits, field assessments, and condition evaluations of industrial equipment and facility components.

• Observe, test, assess, and document the operation of equipment and performance of systems.

• Evaluate major material handling and conveyance systems against design diagrams, specifications, operational needs, and industry standards.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) standards, site-specific protocols, and company policies.

• Gather electrical data, which includes arc flash details, equipment identification, nameplate verification, electrical ratings, and system documentation.

• Assess electrical infrastructure and equipment rated up to 480 volts.

• Review industrial mechanical systems, equipment components, operational processes, performance, reliability, and maintenance requirements.

• Analyze CMMS records, maintenance history, work orders, asset documentation, preventive maintenance programs, building automation systems (BAS) controls, and operational data.

• Interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints, equipment documentation, inspection reports, certificates of occupancy, warranty details, and maintenance records.

• Conduct interviews with facility personnel, contractors, vendors, and clients.

• Document field observations through notes, photographs, equipment data collection, and electronic reporting tools.

• Create technical reports detailing equipment conditions, deficiencies, trends, findings, and recommendations.

• Coordinate onsite activities with commissioning technicians, contractors, controls vendors, and facility operations teams.

• Communicate technical findings, corrective measures, testing requirements, project updates, and potential issues to internal teams and clients.

• Maintain ongoing communication with Lead and Senior Project Managers regarding project status, site access, schedules, risks, and concerns.

• Travel approximately 75% via airplane, motor vehicle, or train to client/project locations across the U.S.

• Adapt to flexible schedules, which may include night shifts and weekend work.


⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.

• A technical degree, trade school diploma, vocational training, or an associate degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.

• Preferred qualifications include journeyman credentials in mechanical or electrical disciplines.

• A minimum of five years of experience in equipment maintenance or building inspection is desired but not compulsory.

• Strong preference for experience in electrical, mechanical, controls, or material handling systems.

• A valid driver's license is essential, along with a clean driving record and no significant moving violation points or infractions.

• Industry-recognized certifications, active pursuit of certification, or equivalent professional credentials such as CxA, CCP, BCxP, CEM, NICET, NFPA-related certifications, or relevant active trade licenses are preferred.

• Prior certification as a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) in accordance with NFPA 70E and OSHA standards is required.

• Experience with electrical tasks necessitating arc flash PPE and adherence to electrical safety protocols is crucial.

• Familiarity with Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures involving multiple energy systems is essential.

• Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting material handling equipment, including preventative maintenance, is preferred.

• Background in electrical infrastructure installation, maintenance, replacement, upgrades, and repairs up to 480 volts is advantageous.

• Proficiency in utilizing CMMS systems for asset management, maintenance documentation, and tracking work orders is beneficial.

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

• Experience with operating lifts and following appropriate fall protection procedures is a plus.

• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, NFPA 70E requirements, LOTO procedures, PPE requirements, and electrical safety practices is important.

• Competence with computers, tablets, electronic data collection tools, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel is necessary.

• Ability to work safely in industrial environments with energized equipment and mechanical systems is essential.

• Must meet physical demands and travel requirements.

• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including night shifts and weekend assignments is required.

• A personal cell phone and internet service are required.
