This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Carry out Qualified Electrical Worker duties and conduct electrical field assessments in line with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and specific site requirements.
• Execute arc flash data collection and perform surveys of electrical equipment.
• Confirm equipment identification, nameplates, voltage, amperage, protective devices, conductors, ratings, and other system information.
• Assess electrical equipment and systems for condition, safety, maintenance, operational issues, and compliance.
• Identify and record electrical deficiencies, hazards, equipment conditions, and maintenance issues.
• Operate safely around both energized and de-energized equipment by employing LOTO procedures, approach boundaries, PPE, and energized work practices.
• Examine distribution systems, panels, switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, disconnects, motors, and associated infrastructure.
• Conduct functional testing and observation of electrical and industrial equipment when necessary.
• Record field conditions through notes, photographs, equipment schedules, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Assist in evaluating industrial maintenance practices, equipment reliability, and facility operations.
• Analyze material handling and conveyance systems.
• Review mechanical, controls, plumbing, and other industrial facility systems within the project scope.
• Identify interactions among electrical, mechanical, controls, and material handling systems.
• Compile technically accurate field documentation, assessment findings, observations, and recommendations.
• Travel approximately 50–75% (up to around 75%) to client facilities and industrial sites nationwide.
• Adapt to flexible work schedules, including night shifts and weekends, as required by project demands.
• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• A technical degree, trade school diploma, vocational training, or associate degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required, along with a clean driving record and no significant MVA points or violations.
• Industry-recognized certifications, active pursuit of certification, or equivalent professional credentials such as CxA, CCP, BCxP, CEM, NICET, NFPA-related certifications, or active trade licensure relevant to the supported discipline.
• Must have previously been certified as a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) according to NFPA 70E and OSHA standards.
• Experience in performing electrical work that requires arc flash PPE and adherence to electrical safety protocols.
• Background in conducting electrical equipment surveys, electrical data collection, or arc flash data gathering.
• Strong familiarity with NFPA 70E, OSHA electrical safety standards, QEW practices, electrical equipment identification, and methodologies for arc flash data collection.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, utility, commercial, or other complex facility settings.
• Capability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, equipment schedules, nameplates, and technical documents.
• Proficient in using computers, tablets, and electronic data collection tools.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to write technical reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures.
• Capacity to work independently in the field and apply sound technical and safety judgment.
• Willingness and ability to travel to client sites.
• Ability to work remotely successfully.
• Capability to travel by plane, motor vehicle, and train to project/client sites across the U.S.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including night shifts and weekend assignments.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs and ladders, operate a motor vehicle, and occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Competence in operating an electronic tablet in the field and a computer for up to 100% of the workweek.
