This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +8 more states.
• Assess and underwrite vehicle loan applications received from dealership networks on behalf of credit union partners.
• Analyze credit bureau reports alongside borrowers' credit histories.
• Review debt-to-income (DTI), payment-to-income (PTI), loan-to-value (LTV), income documentation, and overall borrower risk assessment.
• Make decisions regarding loan approvals, declines, and stipulations in accordance with lending guidelines.
• Document underwriting decisions and the rationale behind them within loan systems.
• Communicate directly with dealerships and credit union partners effectively.
• Follow up to secure any missing documentation and fulfill loan conditions.
• Manage a high-volume queue while achieving production and turnaround objectives.
• Assist with funding and loan completion processes.
• Complete a two-week training program from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Mountain Time.
• Maintain a regular work schedule from Thursday to Monday, 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM Mountain Time, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.
• At least 3 years of experience in indirect auto underwriting.
• Proven ability to independently approve, decline, or stipulate auto loan applications.
• Strong experience in evaluating credit reports, DTI, PTI, LTV, and income verification documentation.
• Familiarity with at least one of the following systems: MeridianLink, Keystone Correlation, CUDL, ArcOS, Ideal, or L360.
• Capability to excel in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Open to receiving and applying feedback constructively.
• Must reside in Colorado, Wyoming, Illinois, Texas, Arizona, Florida, Washington, Georgia, Virginia, or Hawaii.
• Access to reliable high-speed internet.
• A private, distraction-free workspace is essential.
• Must be able to work autonomously from home.
• Flexibility and availability on weekends, including Sundays.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Experience in credit union lending is preferred.
• Experience engaging directly with dealerships is preferred.
• Familiarity with multiple loan origination systems is preferred.
• Previous experience in remote underwriting is preferred.
• Experience mentoring junior underwriters or analysts is preferred.
