This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +8 more states.
• Assess and underwrite vehicle loan applications received from dealership networks for credit union partners.
• Examine credit bureau reports and the credit history of borrowers.
• Analyze debt-to-income (DTI), payment-to-income (PTI), loan-to-value (LTV), income documentation, and overall borrower risk assessment.
• Make decisions regarding loan approvals, declines, and stipulations in accordance with lending guidelines.
• Record underwriting decisions and their justifications within loan systems.
• Engage directly with dealerships and credit union partners.
• Follow up to secure any missing documentation and fulfill loan conditions.
• Manage a high-volume queue while achieving production and turnaround targets.
• Assist in funding and finalizing loan activities.
• Complete initial training from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM Mountain Time.
• Adhere to a regular Thursday to Monday schedule, 12:00 PM-9:00 PM Mountain Time, with Tuesday and Wednesday off.
• Participate in quarterly bidding for alternative schedules based on production and performance metrics.
• At least 3 years of experience in indirect auto underwriting.
• Proven experience in independently approving, declining, or stipulating auto loan applications.
• Extensive experience in evaluating credit reports, DTI, PTI, LTV, and income verification documentation.
• Familiarity with at least one of the following systems: MeridianLink, Keystone Correlation, CUDL, ArcOS, Ideal, or L360.
• Capability to excel in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.
• Willingness to accept and act on feedback.
• Must reside in Colorado, Wyoming, Illinois, Texas, Arizona, Florida, Washington, Georgia, Virginia, or Hawaii.
• Access to reliable high-speed internet.
• Possession of a private, distraction-free workspace.
• Ability to work independently from home.
• Flexibility and availability on weekends; Sundays are mandatory.
• Comfort with evening and weekend work schedules.
• Preferred experience in credit union lending.
• Preferred experience working directly with dealerships.
• Preferred experience using multiple loan origination systems.
• Previous remote underwriting experience is preferred.
• Experience mentoring junior underwriters or analysts is preferred.
