This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.
• Localize in-game text, user interface, dialogues, subtitles, and narrative content for target languages, ensuring the preservation of tone, style, and context.
• Adapt content to be culturally relevant and sensitive for diverse regional audiences.
• Review and edit localized materials for accuracy, consistency, and quality assurance.
• Maintain glossaries, style guides, and terminology databases.
• Collaborate with localization QA teams to identify and rectify linguistic bugs within the game.
• Offer feedback on localization processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and quality.
• Coordinate efforts with language teams.
• Contribute to AI and language technology initiatives that enhance communication.
• Complete testing and onboarding processes as necessary when selected.
• Native-level proficiency in the target language.
• A graduate degree in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a graduate degree in another discipline along with 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.
• Over 3 years of proven experience in localizing in-game video content.
• Comprehensive understanding of user interface content/menus, mission text, NPC ambient dialogue, and locked cutscene subtitle blocks.
• Experience in transcreation within the gaming industry, specifically translating NBA-related content for video games.
• Familiarity with game engines and localization workflows.
• Knowledge of scripting formats like XML and JSON is advantageous.
• A strong passion for video games, particularly in the sports, action, or narrative-driven genres.
• Submission of an English-language resume/C.V. showcasing expertise in gaming localization.
• Completion of a domain-specific assessment if required.
• Reliable availability and dedication; most assignments require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week.
• Contractors must not be based in regions that are subject to international embargoes or sanctions.
