Import & Customs Operations Expert

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Offer guidance on customs-related issues associated with imports

• Act as the main contact for customs-related inquiries regarding import procedures

• Manage operational customs matters for imports

• Ensure customs clearance is completed accurately and on time

• Prepare applications and maintain customs authorizations for imports

• Supervise the execution of customs authorizations

• Verify that all necessary documentation is in order and liaise with relevant authorities promptly

• Assess internally generated customs clearance orders for legal validity, completeness, and precision

• Assist in addressing inquiries from customs authorities

• Resolve internal issues as needed

• Support inspections and audits

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed a commercial apprenticeship or a relevant degree, preferably in customs, foreign trade, logistics, or law

• Several years of experience in both operational and strategic aspects of import customs clearance

• Comprehensive knowledge of customs tariff classification, origin calculations, customs value assessment, and customs law pertaining to imports

• Experience in applying for and managing import customs authorizations

• Ability to independently prepare applications and oversee the entire process

• Capability to provide confident internal advice, make decision-ready recommendations, and serve as a specialist contact

• Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of the procedural interrelationships in customs clearance

• Proficient in MS Office and familiar with customs or ERP/logistics systems

• Excellent command of both written and spoken German and English

• A P36-, P37-, or P38-certification is a plus
