Implementation Consultant – Functional

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +9 more locations.

📋 Description

• Lead the functional implementation workstream for enterprise customer deployments from initiation to go-live.

• Take ownership of project timelines, task tracking, and coordination among internal teams and customer stakeholders.

• Conduct discovery sessions to gain insights into customer business processes, operational workflows, and organizational needs.

• Convert business requirements into functional configuration plans for hazard/task libraries, templates, workflows, roles, and permissions.

• Collaborate with the Tech/Solution Consultant on integrations, SSO, data migration, and environment setup.

• Facilitate customer checkpoints, status updates, and cross-functional alignment meetings.

• Monitor and document implementation activities to ensure transparency, knowledge sharing, and repeatability.

• Lead business process design workshops with customer representatives.

• Make configuration decisions concerning forms, templates, hazard/control libraries, and workflow design.

• Validate configured workflows against field operations and customer requirements.

• Assist in training planning and delivery, partnering on rollout strategies.

• Identify Field Champions and provide support for enablement prior to the Field Pilot.

• Collect and integrate field feedback during the Pilot phase and early go-live.

• Communicate product releases and feature updates to customers effectively.

• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and execution.

• Identify and communicate functional risks, dependencies, and launch blockers.

• Support go-live cutover planning and transition to Customer Success and Support teams.

• Transform recurring functional/configuration challenges into reusable templates and standardized approaches.

• Work collaboratively with Product on configuration tooling and platform enhancements.

• Develop documentation and toolsets to minimize manual effort and enhance implementation speed.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in implementation consulting, project management, business analysis, or customer-facing SaaS deployment roles.

• Demonstrated experience in leading project or functional workstreams for enterprise software implementations.

• Ability to translate customer business requirements into scalable, well-documented configuration plans.

• Strong project management abilities, including timeline management, stakeholder coordination, and tracking of risks and dependencies.

• Capability to collaborate effectively with technical counterparts, customer stakeholders, and internal cross-functional teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead workshops and foster stakeholder confidence and trust.

• Preferred: experience implementing software for utility, energy, industrial, or regulated enterprise customers.

• Preferred: experience deploying software to field/frontline environments.

• Preferred: familiarity with change management or training rollout for operational teams.

• Preferred: background in business process design, workflow configuration, or configuration-heavy SaaS platforms.

• Preferred: experience with reporting or dashboards using SQL and visualization tools.
