Immigration Legal Assistant – LATAM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Ensure the maintenance of precise case files, databases, folders, and tracking records for Citizenship, AOS, SIJ-SAPCR, removal of conditions, and CPS matters.

• Assist attorneys in preparing legal forms, petitions, affidavits, motions, orders, correspondence, and other case-related documents.

• Keep track of filed applications and update current case information along with master tracking spreadsheets.

• Communicate with clients to collect information, provide updates on cases, and relay next steps under the guidance of an attorney.

• Organize appointments, interviews, court dates, hearings, and other meetings related to cases.

• Conduct legal research pertinent to immigration matters and compile summaries to support case preparation.

• Review legal documents for accuracy, thoroughness, and compliance with regulations.

• Assist with CPS matters by liaising with relevant parties and preparing motions, orders, and supporting documentation.

• Create case summaries, affidavits, case folders, mail records, and other materials for effective case management.

• Keep abreast of immigration procedures and integrate feedback from attorneys and senior legal staff.


⛳️ Requirements

• Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients, attorneys, and other involved parties.

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing legal documents, deadlines, and case records.

• Capability to handle multiple legal and administrative priorities while ensuring accuracy.

• Proficient in Google Workspace.

• A genuine interest in immigration law and the legal challenges faced by individuals and families.

• Previous experience in immigration law, legal services, case management, or document preparation is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Citizenship, Adjustment of Status, SIJ-SAPCR, removal of conditions, or CPS matters is a plus.

• Experience in drafting legal forms, affidavits, motions, orders, or case summaries is beneficial.
