Identity and Access Management Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and configure enterprise IAM architecture, encompassing SSO, MFA, adaptive authentication, and federation utilizing Okta and Auth0.

• Take ownership and execute the strategy for non-human identity, which includes service accounts, workload identities, secrets and credential management, machine-to-machine authentication, and the evolving identity model for AI agents.

• Establish and enforce identity governance standards, incorporating access reviews, privileged access management, and least-privilege models.

• Architect, develop, and manage identity lifecycle processes, which involve provisioning, de-provisioning, and role-based or attribute-based access control.

• Collaborate with engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to integrate identity-first design into new systems and integrations.

• Assess, select, and implement IAM tools, leading migrations or consolidations between identity platforms.

• Create and maintain monitoring, auditing, and incident response protocols specifically addressing identity and access risks.

• Act as the subject-matter expert on IAM during audits, compliance reviews, and security evaluations.

• Function as an individual contributor and technical authority in identity security, lifecycle management, and zero-trust access models.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience securing both human and non-human identities at an organizational level is essential.

• Extensive, hands-on architectural expertise with Okta and Auth0, including custom policies, connectors, and API-based configurations.

• Experience collaborating across security, infrastructure, and application teams on identity-first design initiatives.

• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM standards.

• Familiarity with privileged access management, secrets management, and workload identity frameworks.

• Working knowledge of zero-trust architecture principles related to identity.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for converting architectural concepts into actionable guidance for engineering teams.

• Ability to mentor engineers on identity best practices, even in the absence of formal management responsibilities.

• Experience with AI Agent Governance.

• Familiarity with Okta for AI Agents - Okta Gateway.
