Hydroinformatics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Configure, calibrate, and implement digital twin simulation services aimed at enhancing the efficiency of water and wastewater network operations.

• Address complex water resource challenges through optimization strategies and data analytics utilizing sensor data and hydraulic models.

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers and decision-makers to identify issues, develop strategic solutions, and execute them.

• Create and manage extensive datasets.

• Clearly and succinctly convey data summaries and conclusions through both visual and verbal communication.

• Convert data analytics into terminology that is accessible to engineers and data analysts in both practical and research contexts.

• Engage in volunteer activities through Xylem Watermark.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.

• At least 3 years of experience in modeling for water, sewer, or stormwater systems.

• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software for drinking water networks (such as EPANET or similar) and/or stormwater networks (like SWMM or comparable).

• Prior experience with programming languages such as Python, R, C, MATLAB, etc.

• Familiarity with contemporary data science workflows for data access and filtering, geospatial analysis, and model parameter estimation.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Self-driven, resourceful, and enthusiastic about acquiring new skills.

• A creative mindset coupled with practical problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in English.

• Understanding of data management modeling tools.

• Working knowledge of Agile Methodology and Jira.

• Practical knowledge of modern data science techniques for hydraulic and model development.

• Previous hands-on experience in a water utility, organization, or related environment.
