HVAC Controls – Building Systems Specialist III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance complex operational sequences to boost the energy efficiency of HVAC systems.

• Evaluate current building automation systems to assist in product selection.

• Perform field assessments of equipment and building automation capabilities.

• Develop Room Ventilation Schedules in accordance with relevant code regulations.

• Offer design insights regarding alternatives, equipment selections, and pricing options.

• Create controls submittal packages that include parts lists.

• Oversee the onsite supervision of controls and low-voltage subcontractors.

• Initiate control systems, including trends, graphics, and programming.

• Program advanced sequences for essential infrastructure, such as central plants.

• Spearhead programming and controls implementation projects.

• Ensure the completion of pre-functional checklists.

• Diagnose control installation issues and equipment failures.

• Provide construction administration, maintain progress documentation, and update design documents.

• Assist with commissioning and verify the completeness of controls documentation.

• Collaborate with other divisions to achieve successful controls outcomes.

• Prepare technical reports and associated documents.

• Offer leadership, coaching, and mentorship to junior staff members.

• Adhere to the company’s mission, values, and philosophy of owner advocacy.

• Execute additional duties as assigned or necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency with JCI, Siemens, Honeywell, Trane, Tridium, Schneider, or other building automation systems.

• Over 10 years of relevant experience.

• In-depth knowledge of commercial HVAC systems.

• Capability to meet deadlines consistently.

• Fundamental planning abilities.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Possession of a valid driver's license and a pristine driving record.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple ongoing projects in a dynamic environment.

• Preferred: Associate's degree in automation, controls instrumentation, or related disciplines.

• Preferred: Journeyman electrician certification.

• Willingness to travel 50% of the time to job site(s)/office location.

• Ability to work in diverse physical conditions, including climbing, kneeling, standing, sitting, confined spaces, and using machinery or power tools.

• Capability to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
