HVAC Chiller Journeyman Technician – Traveling Data Center Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Travel to various data center locations following a long-term rotational schedule of 4 weeks on duty and 1 week off.

• Engage in the startup and commissioning of new units.

• Conduct diagnostic assessments and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.

• Carry out routine maintenance on heating and cooling systems.

• Analyze and interpret regulatory guidelines and technical documents, including blueprints and diagrams.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.

• Elevate issues for resolution when necessary.

• Comply with licensing regulations and ensure safe operation of equipment.

• Identify HVAC-related hazards, complete safety training, and apply effective safety protocols.

• Work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Lead teams in high-performance, customer-centric settings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience in the HVAC industry.

• More than 3 years of experience working with centrifugal chillers.

• Capability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs.

• EPA Universal Certification is required.

• Must be able to stand, crawl, sit, squat for extended periods, climb ladders, and work on rooftops.

• High School Diploma or GED is necessary.

• A valid and current Driver’s License is essential.

• Must be insurable under the company’s insurance policy.

• OSHA 30 Certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience with Carrier, Trane, and Daikin air-cooled and water-cooled centrifugal chillers is preferred but not mandatory.

• Basic knowledge of building automation controls (BOMAC) is preferred but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with data centers is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience with steam turbines is preferred but not mandatory.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are preferred but not mandatory.

• Knowledge of ServiceMax is preferred but not mandatory.

• Strong understanding of 19XR, 30CF, and CDU chillers is preferred but not mandatory.

• Understanding of air-side systems, including constant volume and VAV, is preferred but not mandatory.

• Knowledge of water-side systems, including hot water, chilled water, and condenser water, is preferred but not mandatory.
