HV Regional Manager – Eastern Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage various high-voltage substation, transmission, and interconnection construction projects in the Eastern region.

• Ensure that projects are completed promptly, within budget, and in compliance with quality, safety, utility, and NERC standards.

• Monitor project advancement, schedule risks, engineering, procurement, and utility milestones.

• Participate in go/no-go evaluations for regional initiatives.

• Supervise and guide Project Executives, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents.

• Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance field organization and consistent operational practices in the region.

• Conduct team meetings and daily/weekly PODs.

• Support career development for regional personnel.

• Enforce QEW qualifications and oversee safety audits, energized work permits, and stop-work procedures.

• Drive DART performance towards a zero-incident goal.

• Take ownership of near-miss and incident reporting and root-cause investigations.

• Act as a primary contact for clients and utilities.

• Build relationships with clients and utilities, collaborating on business development, AVL qualification pursuits, and bids.

• Develop and manage project budgets along with regional financial rollups.

• Monitor costs, margins, change orders, and claims.

• Ensure adherence to quality standards, hold points, NCR tracking, and root-cause analysis across projects.

• Prepare reports detailing project status, financial performance, safety, and quality metrics.

• Maintain comprehensive and auditable project and qualification documentation.

• Identify regional risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred, although candidates with equivalent high-voltage field experience will also be considered.

• A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in high-voltage substation, transmission line, and utility interconnection construction.

• Previous experience in a Project Executive role or in a multi-project field leadership capacity.

• Demonstrated experience in construction project management and budget forecasting.

• Working knowledge of ISO and utility markets, as well as the utility Approved Vendor List (AVL) qualification process.

• Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) certification, or the ability to obtain it within the first 90 days of employment.

• Strong understanding of high-voltage construction processes, NERC and utility interconnection requirements, and safety regulations.

• Capability to lead a geographically distributed team.

• Aptitude for analyzing complex situations and making informed decisions under time and margin constraints.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills across a multi-project regional portfolio.

• Familiarity with project management, estimating, and productivity tracking software and tools, including Sunscreen, Workday, Heavy Job, and Heavy Bid.

• Extensive regional travel is required.
