This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist with the commissioning, maintenance, and diagnostic evaluation of MV, HV, and EHV underground cable systems throughout North America.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain Prysmian resonant AC test systems, partial discharge measurement tools, and specialized high-voltage testing apparatus.
• Create project-specific testing strategies, procedures, job hazard analyses, and pre-job safety documentation.
• Coordinate project timelines, equipment logistics, personnel, and field resources.
• Mobilize, set up, commission, operate, maintain, and demobilize high-voltage testing equipment at client locations.
• Lead and support field technicians while ensuring adherence to safety regulations, customer expectations, and industry standards.
• Analyze test data, interpret findings, assess cable system performance, and provide technical advice.
• Compile detailed technical reports documenting procedures, outcomes, observations, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with installation engineers, cable splicers, system engineers, project managers, and clients to formulate testing strategies.
• Assist clients in diagnosing cable system problems and propose technical solutions.
• Maintain, inspect, calibrate, and verify high-voltage testing equipment.
• Promote continuous improvement in testing methodologies, equipment usage, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Represent Prysmian in a professional manner and cultivate strong customer relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering field from an accredited four-year institution.
• Solid understanding of MV, HV, and EHV underground cable systems along with power system fundamentals.
• Experience in commissioning, acceptance, maintenance, and diagnostic testing of underground cable systems.
• Practical experience with resonant AC withstand testing, PD measurements, sheath integrity assessments, impedance testing, and other high-voltage diagnostic technologies.
• Familiarity with IEEE and IEC standards relevant to cable testing and commissioning.
• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing professional technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively to client locations across North America.
• Experience in commissioning and testing underground transmission cable systems rated at 500 kV or higher.
• Knowledge of cable diagnostics, fault location, condition assessment, partial discharge, and asset management techniques.
• Proven project coordination or field leadership experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and technical reporting software.
• Availability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and utility outage schedules as necessitated by project requirements.
• Must meet the physical demands associated with field testing and commissioning tasks.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored visa sponsorship.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain customer-required safety training and site access certifications.
