This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.
β’ Oversee the entire recruiting process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer negotiations.
β’ Facilitate the onboarding and orientation process for new hires.
β’ Manage initiatives such as Performance Management and Employee Recognition programs.
β’ Administer employee benefits programs effectively.
β’ Keep HRIS records up to date and ensure the accuracy of data.
β’ Ensure adherence to California and federal employment laws, such as CFRA, PFL, meal/rest break regulations, and AB 1825 harassment training.
β’ Collaborate with the Payroll team to assist in payroll processing.
β’ Create and revise employee handbooks, policies, and procedures as needed.
β’ Conduct exit interviews and evaluate turnover trends.
β’ Help manage workers' compensation claims and ensure compliance with safety regulations (Cal/OSHA).
β’ Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, supporting student-focused Culture of Care initiatives.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
β’ 2 to 4 years of experience as an HR generalist.
β’ Preferably have experience with California employment law.
β’ Familiarity with CA labor laws, including wage & hour regulations, leave policies, and harassment prevention.
β’ Possession of PHR, SHRM-CP, or a similar certification is advantageous.
β’ Excellent communication, discretion, and organizational abilities.
β’ Proficient in using HRIS platforms such as ADP, Paylocity, BambooHR, or Rippling.
β’ Payroll experience is a plus.
β’ Candidates must reside in the Phoenix or Southern California area.
