Human Factors Expert Witness

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute forensic investigations and analyze cases regarding human performance and behavior in transportation and accident-related situations.

• Examine crash reports, onsite evidence, and environmental elements to evaluate human behavior and decision-making in transportation-related incidents.

• Create comprehensive written reports and expert opinions based on human factors principles, peer-reviewed studies, and established scientific methodologies.

• Deliver expert witness testimony during depositions and trials, simplifying complex human factors concepts into understandable and defensible opinions.

• Collaborate with legal teams to pinpoint case strengths and weaknesses, highlight critical human-factor issues, and aid in crafting litigation strategies.

• Remain updated on human factors research, driver behavior science, fatigue studies, and relevant industry standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in Human Factors.

• Ph.D. in Human Factors, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Human Performance and Cognition, or a closely related field.

• Significant experience in analyzing human capabilities and limitations, driver behavior, distraction, fatigue, visibility, and perception-reaction time.

• Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to apply scientific methods to real-world situations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of articulating complex concepts to attorneys, judges, juries, and non-technical audiences.

• Certified Human Factors Professional (CHFP) is highly preferred.

• Previous expert witness experience, including investigations and the preparation of expert witness reports and testimony.

• Background in trucking, transportation, roadway design, work zones, and personal injury-related cases such as slip, trip, and fall incidents.
