This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +1 more state.
• Identify and assess opportunities for NextSilicon's HPC accelerator technology across various industry sectors, government entities, and academic institutions.
• Port, benchmark, and enhance applications across CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, and other high-performance computing technologies.
• Articulate the benefits of NextSilicon's method for accelerating computing workloads to clients.
• Collect and summarize customer requirements for the research and development teams.
• Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify and assess opportunities.
• Utilize and expand existing client networks to promote opportunity-pipeline growth.
• Develop and justify requirements for future generations of hardware and software.
• Connect with technical experts and decision-makers at current and prospective customers.
• Offer consulting services on maximizing technology value for specific customer applications.
• Conduct and lead performance evaluations, code porting, and proof-of-concept projects with the application support team.
• Assist sales partners in crafting successful proposals.
• Maintain relationships with existing clients and forge new connections while seeking out opportunities.
• Collect, evaluate, document, and discuss customer requirements with product management and engineering teams.
• Provide competitive market insights and direction to sales and engineering teams.
• Aid partners in developing technical responses, succinct descriptions, and compelling value propositions for proposals.
• Evaluate and mitigate technology risks for clients and NextSilicon.
• Present the value propositions of NextSilicon technology for various use cases to customers.
• Contribute to sales objectives and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Report on activities and discuss future plans with peers and management.
• Enhance knowledge in application categories, market sectors, competitor landscape, methodologies, and technical frameworks.
• Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline (computer science, mathematics, natural sciences, or engineering) with a substantial emphasis on scientific computing.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the field, including at least 4 years in the commercial sector.
• Candidates with fewer years may be considered if their experience is highly relevant and backed by an outstanding track record, such as published works.
• Practical experience with at least two computing architectures, including CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, or vector processors.
• Practical knowledge in at least two application domains, such as finite element methods, computational fluid dynamics, molecular dynamics, high-energy or astrophysics, quantum chemistry, weather/climate simulations, or AI training and inference frameworks.
• Experience in at least two industry sectors is highly desired, including government, academia, finance, oil & gas, manufacturing, telecommunications, engineering, or logistics.
• Strong experience in parallel programming utilizing both MPI and OpenMP.
• Proficient in C/C++ and Fortran programming languages.
• Willingness to learn and further develop Fortran skills.
• Experience with UNIX (Linux) and shell programming.
• Excellent presentation and customer-facing interpersonal skills.
• Strong technical writing abilities, including the production of presentations, whitepapers, and blogs.
• US citizenship with the ability to access US government research facilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%, primarily within North America and occasionally internationally.
• A Master's or Ph.D. with relevant specialization is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Python programming is a plus.
• Examples of peer-reviewed publications are an added advantage.
