Field Support Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Install, repair, upgrade, and conduct preventative maintenance on specific Carl Zeiss Meditec equipment within an assigned field service area.

• Serve as the representative of Carl Zeiss Meditec at customer sites, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

• Diagnose and resolve issues with designated products, including performing preventative maintenance, installations, and upgrades.

• Schedule, create, verify, and adjust customer visits according to their requirements.

• Complete and submit daily reports detailing field service activities.

• Complete and submit weekly expense documentation.

• Manage the spare parts inventory and return specific components in accordance with policy.

• Contribute to revenue growth by promoting and maintaining service agreements.

• Engage professionally with customers.

• Educate customers on the operation and maintenance of equipment.

• Maintain company-provided testing equipment, support tools, and spare parts.

• Install and maintain equipment at trade shows as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in Electronics, Fine Mechanics, Optics, or Medical Field Service.

• A Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or Computer Technology and related fields is preferred.

• A+ and Net+ certifications are preferred.

• Ability to analyze complex customer issues and deliver satisfactory resolutions.

• Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal management oversight.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Proficient computer skills are necessary.

• Must be able to complete required training to service fine mechanics and optics effectively on the equipment trained.

• Strong abilities in managing multiple projects and effective time management are required.
