This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +1 more state.
• Assist technical field sales by identifying and qualifying technology opportunities across various industry sectors, government entities, and academic institutions.
• Adapt, benchmark, and enhance applications for CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, vector processors, and other high-performance computing (HPC) technologies.
• Articulate the benefits of NextSilicon’s accelerated computing solutions to clients.
• Collect and summarize customer requirements for the research and development teams.
• Work collaboratively with sales and business development teams to pinpoint and qualify opportunities.
• Utilize and expand client networks to drive growth in the opportunity pipeline.
• Develop and substantiate requirements for forthcoming hardware and software generations.
• Act as a liaison with technical experts and decision-makers at both existing and prospective customers.
• Offer consulting services to maximize technology value for specific customer applications.
• Conduct and lead performance evaluations, code-porting initiatives, and proof-of-concept projects.
• Support sales partners in crafting successful proposals.
• Maintain current client relationships while establishing new ones.
• Provide insights on competitive market trends and guidance to sales and engineering teams.
• Evaluate and mitigate technology risks for both clients and the company.
• Present the value of technology for various use cases to customers.
• Contribute to achieving sales targets and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Document activities and engage in discussions about plans with peers and management.
• Broaden expertise in application categories, market sectors, competitors, methodologies, and technical frameworks.
• Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline (computer science, mathematics, natural sciences, or engineering) with a strong emphasis on scientific computing.
• A Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant specialization is advantageous.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the field, with at least 4 years in the commercial sector.
• Candidates with fewer years of experience may be considered if their work history is highly relevant and backed by an outstanding track record.
• Hands-on experience with at least two computing architectures (CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, vector processors, etc.).
• Practical knowledge in at least two application domains, such as finite element methods, computational fluid dynamics, molecular dynamics, high-energy or astrophysics, quantum chemistry, weather/climate simulations, or AI training and inference frameworks.
• Experience in at least two industry sectors is highly desirable.
• Proficient in parallel programming using both MPI and OpenMP.
• Strong background in C/C++ and Fortran.
• Eagerness to learn and enhance Fortran skills.
• Experience with UNIX (Linux) and shell scripting.
• Python programming experience is a plus.
• Strong presentation and customer interaction skills.
• Excellent technical writing abilities.
• Examples of peer-reviewed publications are considered a plus.
• Must be a US citizen with eligibility to access US government research facilities.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 40%, primarily within North America and occasionally internationally.
• Remote work options are available for outstanding candidates.
