This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Offer hotline assistance for the state resource center focused on opioid dependence.
• Handle incoming calls utilizing a harm reduction approach.
• Provide crisis intervention along with precise referral services.
• Gather and input caller information for statistical analysis and reporting.
• Help clients connect with addiction services, detox programs, methadone maintenance, and outpatient care.
• Triage walk-in patients seeking opioid treatment.
• Evaluate potential patients interested in receiving treatment.
• Aid patients in accessing treatment and organizing appointments.
• Offer backup support to the medical assistant.
• Maintain the opioid treatment program waiting list in accordance with federal regulations.
• Refresh and create resources for clients and their family members.
• Distribute resource materials to clients, family members, support systems, and providers.
• Collaborate with opioid treatment nurses, providers, and Department of Public Health hotline support personnel.
• Support clinic operations, including filing, chart management, referrals, appointment scheduling, and various administrative duties.
• Participate in staff and state meetings while taking minutes.
• Associate’s degree (or equivalent) along with 1 year of relevant experience.
• An equivalent combination of formal education and experience will be considered, such as a HS/GED plus 3 years of related experience.
• Prior experience in a substance abuse or mental health environment is preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree is desirable.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills beyond English are preferred.
• Knowledge of addiction through formal training or experience is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Capable of performing basic data management tasks, including entry, cleaning, and reporting.
• Typing proficiency and foundational math skills are required.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, along with compassion and sensitivity.
• Ability to address and de-escalate challenging conversations with tact and diplomacy.
