This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Deploy, manage, and ensure the uptime of both production and engineering virtual servers.
• Provide infrastructure support and assist the Engineering software support team with application deployments.
• Lead service restoration efforts by prioritizing and escalating issues to vendors or internal support teams.
• Address infrastructure-related service incidents and adhere to internal escalation procedures.
• Manage ServiceNow tickets, interpret architecture diagrams, and build services in accordance with those diagrams.
• Maintain infrastructure components including VMware hypervisors, Azure, AWS, Hyper-V, Linux servers, and Windows servers.
• Support Engineering applications such as Jira, Artifactory, and Bitbucket.
• Ensure that systems comply with Thales security protocols and escalate any violations as necessary.
• Compile a weekly report on Systems service availability for the department.
• Monitor customer Service Level Agreements regarding availability.
• Uphold system service levels through proactive monitoring and maintenance activities.
• Operate with minimal supervision and contribute suggestions for professional development and training initiatives.
• Engage in assigned projects to foster partnership opportunities with other teams.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support for infrastructure-related service incidents as part of a team rotation.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in computer science with 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Linux enterprise infrastructure.
• At least 5 years of experience in administering VMware vSphere, vCenter, and Azure Stack.
• Eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
• Ability to obtain NATO Secret security clearance.
• Strong knowledge and experience in administering applications on Microsoft Windows and Linux; experience with Red Hat and Ubuntu is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, along with effective people skills, planning, implementation, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with the capacity to work independently.
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and software development environments is advantageous.
• Ability to provide 24/7 on-call support as part of a team rotation.
• Availability for some weekend and evening work may be necessary.
