Home Infusion RN – Independent Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Conduct in-home infusion therapy visits in alignment with the established care plan.

• Prepare clinical and nursing documentation, recording patient interventions in both clinical and non-clinical records.

• Serve as a clinical resource and work collaboratively with pharmacy departments.

• Keep informed about drug side effects and potential interactions.

• Provide educational support via telephone and in-person regarding therapy protocols, drug side effects, and home infusion procedures.

• Ensure that patients comprehend therapy plans, medications, and adherence requirements.

• Act as a liaison among patients, families, and the pharmacy.

• Conduct thorough initial and periodic head-to-toe patient assessments.

• Initiate preventative and rehabilitative care as necessary.

• Assess patient needs using data from assessments and input from the agency team, physician, patient, and family.

• Manage expectations of patients and families concerning services, outcomes, and discharge objectives.

• Establish primary and secondary diagnoses, focusing on patient assessment and home health care.

• Create care plans that include skilled interventions, medical supplies, and required services.

• Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

• Valid RN state license.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in home infusion and infusion centers.

• At least 2 years’ experience working with IV Immunoglobulins and IV Biologics.

• CRNI certification preferred.

• Preferred experience with peripheral IV starts, infusion therapy, and phlebotomy for both adult and pediatric patients.

• Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capable of maintaining consistently accurate records.

• Ability to direct information to the appropriate healthcare provider effectively.

• Proficient in computer skills, including word processing, internet usage, and email communication.

• Current CPR and BLS certification from the Red Cross and AHA.

• Possession of a valid driver's license.

• Reliable transportation and automobile insurance are necessary.

• Ability to operate a computer and office productivity equipment.

• Ability to communicate regularly with patients and the team via telephone and text messaging.

• Capability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
