This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Develop and uphold record retention policies and procedures that are in line with federal, state, and organizational standards across the enterprise.
• Analyze and implement regulatory requirements to organizational practices to guarantee compliance and reduce risk.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to advise leadership and departments on retention strategies, compliance matters, and operational enhancements.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Data Governance teams to create and enforce retention schedules and destruction protocols.
• Drive initiatives aimed at enhancing record management processes, including technological improvements and vendor management.
• Utilize independent judgment to establish retention timelines, destruction schedules, and compliance strategies.
• Oversee monitoring and auditing of retention practices to ensure conformity with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Offer training and support to staff regarding record retention policies and compliance standards.
• An associate’s degree is required or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in Health Information Management, compliance, or similar regulatory roles.
• Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and regulatory requirements concerning health information management.
• Capability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to organizational policies effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for compliance audits and vendor management.
• A bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in policy development and enterprise compliance programs is preferred.
