This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise requests for medical records and correspondence, focusing on process enhancement and document development.
• Oversee the management of medical record requests (MRR) and letter processing improvements.
• Administer the medical record portal.
• Coordinate vendor management.
• Foster relationships with healthcare providers.
• Facilitate collaboration between payers and providers.
• Direct team workflows to ensure adherence to quality standards and productivity benchmarks.
• Provide coverage for inventory management during high-demand periods.
• Execute quality assurance monitoring for Health Information Management (HIM) personnel.
• Partner with leadership, team members, vendors, and clients to enhance processes and improve communication.
• Ensure adherence to healthcare privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA, to protect health information from unauthorized access.
• Oversee both electronic health records and, when necessary, paper records.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Fulfill compliance obligations requested by business partners, including background checks, drug screenings, and disclosures of personal health information or personally identifiable information.
• Bachelor’s degree in health information management.
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential in good standing.
• Familiarity with HIPAA privacy regulations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in training others.
• Background in leading or managing a team.
• Competence with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Proven experience in health information management.
• Capability to work in proximity to computers and printers.
• Ability to perform sedentary tasks involving extended periods of sitting.
• Skill in typing and executing repetitive computer-related movements throughout the day.
• Capacity to focus on analytical tasks, read information, and communicate both verbally and in writing continuously throughout the day.
