This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• Provide specialized high school severe and profound special education course content in an online setting.
• Offer instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.
• Prioritize the individual needs of students as outlined in each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
• Collaborate with parents and related service personnel to ensure students access appropriate therapies.
• Create compliant IEPs, progress reports, and necessary special education documentation.
• Lead and facilitate collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings.
• Utilize assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible texts to implement accommodations and modifications.
• Adapt Stride K12 lessons and assessments based on students’ IEPs.
• Promote student inclusion and success within the general education classroom.
• Gather data and work samples to track progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
• Record parent communications and student interventions.
• Analyze student data to recommend remediation and enrichment strategies.
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, notifying administrators of performance issues.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting.
• Travel up to 20% for in-person professional development, student testing, and/or school requirements.
• Oklahoma Teaching Certification is mandatory.
• Severe and Profound Special Education endorsement is essential.
• Oklahoma residency is required.
• A Bachelor's degree is necessary.
• An active state teaching license is required.
• Capability to pass the required background check.
• Ability to work independently, generally exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours.
• Collaborate with other educators to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data to inform instructional decisions.
• Open to regular coaching from administrators.
• Willingness to adapt to changes to ensure excellent student outcomes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
• Experience with the specified age group is preferred.
• Experience assisting adults and children with technology is preferred.
• Experience teaching in an online or traditional brick-and-mortar environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with an online learning platform is preferred.
