This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver targeted course material in a virtual setting
• Offer instruction, assistance, and guidance tailored to meet students' unique needs as outlined by each student's IEP
• Liaise with parents and related service personnel to ensure the implementation of appropriate therapies
• Create compliant IEPs, progress reports, and necessary special education documentation
• Facilitate and conduct collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP discussions
• Implement accommodations and modifications utilizing assistive technology, supplemental curricula, and accessible texts
• Adjust lessons and assessments in accordance with IEP specifications
• Promote inclusion and foster student success within the general education environment
• Gather data and work samples to track progress toward IEP objectives
• Record parent interactions and student interventions
• Analyze student data to recommend remediation and enrichment strategies
• Deliver both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Maintain the grade book and make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Establish and maintain positive relationships, communicating promptly with students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and general virtual-classroom troubleshooting
• Collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, administrators, and related service staff
• Must be a resident of Indiana
• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid State Special Education teaching license must be active
• A minimum of six (6) months of student teaching experience
• Capable of passing necessary background checks
• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week
• Must maintain a professional home office environment free from distractions during working hours
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for in-person professional development, student assessments, and/or as needed by the school
• Desired proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms is preferred
• Experience working with the specified age group is preferred
• Desired experience in supporting both adults and children in technology usage
• Experience teaching in an online environment and/or traditional classroom setting is preferred
• Familiarity with an online learning platform is preferred
