This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Deliver designated course content in a virtual setting.

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance tailored to each student's individual IEP requirements.

• Ensure the provision of special education and related services as outlined by the IEP team.

• Communicate effectively with parents and related service personnel regarding suitable therapies.

• Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and necessary special education documentation.

• Facilitate and lead collaborative meetings for special education, including annual IEP meetings.

• Implement accommodations and modifications utilizing assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text resources.

• Adjust lessons and assessments in accordance with IEP specifications.

• Promote inclusion and student success within the general education classroom.

• Collect data and work samples to track progress towards IEP objectives.

• Document communications with parents and interventions provided to students.

• Analyze student data to recommend remediation and enrichment strategies.

• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.

• Maintain the grade book and make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.

• Foster a positive relationship with families and maintain timely communication with students and parents.

• Assist learning coaches and parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting.

• Travel up to 20% for professional development, student assessments, and/or school-related obligations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Michigan Teaching Certification is mandatory.

• Special Education endorsement is required.

• Residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. are eligible.

• A Bachelor's degree is necessary.

• An active state teaching license is needed.

• Capability to pass the required background check.

• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.

• Capacity to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during working hours.

• Skill in collaborating with other educators and utilizing student data to inform instructional choices.

• Open to receiving regular coaching from administrators.

• Ability to embrace changes and adapt accordingly.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
