High School Science Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver designated course material in an online setting.

• Offer instruction, support, and guidance to students.

• Oversee the learning process, emphasizing individual student needs.

• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system.

• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to further learning towards set objectives.

• Facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.

• Customize learning for each student.

• Differentiate instruction based on students' levels of mastery.

• Enhance course materials with suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools under the direction of principals and coaches.

• Manage the grade book and uphold academic integrity for students.

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progression.

• Prepare students for critical standardized assessments.

• Build and sustain a positive relationship with families.

• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents.

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curriculum, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues.

• Travel for professional development, student assessments, and other school-related obligations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid Texas High School Science Teaching Certification.

• Residency in Texas.

• Bachelor's degree.

• Active state teaching license.

• Capability to clear mandatory background checks.

• Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.

• Capacity to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during working hours, generally 9-5 (or 8-4) or as designated by the school.

• Willingness to travel as necessary, averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time.

• Experience engaging with the specified age group.

• Experience assisting adults and children with technology use.

• Background in teaching within an online (virtual) and/or traditional classroom environment.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms.

• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Commitment to maintaining teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
