High School Science Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver designated high school science course material in a virtual setting

• Offer instruction, support, and direction

• Oversee the learning process while prioritizing individual student requirements

• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system

• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to further learning objectives

• Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences

• Customize learning and adapt instruction based on student proficiency

• Enhance course content with suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools

• Manage the grade book and uphold academic integrity

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments

• Maintain positive relationships with families and communicate effectively with students and learning coaches/parents

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and general virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues

• Travel as necessary, averaging once a month or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student assessments, and school obligations

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid Science (7-12) certification and license

• Residency in Texas

• Bachelor's degree

• Active state teaching license

• Ability to pass a required background check

• Capacity to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week

• Ability to maintain a professional home office without distractions during working hours

• Capability to collaborate with teachers to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphic student data

• Open to regular coaching

• Willingness to embrace change and adapt

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Ability to sustain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum

• Experience working with the specified age group

• Experience assisting adults and children in utilizing technology

• Experience teaching in an online and/or traditional classroom setting

• Familiarity with online learning platforms
