This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver designated high school English course content in an online setting.
• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.
• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction according to student mastery.
• Enhance course material using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools.
• Track student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system.
• Maintain the grade book and ensure adherence to student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.
• Notify administrators about concerns related to student performance and progress.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Establish and nurture positive relationships with families.
• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues.
• Travel for professional development, student testing, and other school-related obligations.
• Active High School English Certificate.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Valid state teaching license.
• Ability to successfully pass the required background check.
• Texas residency is strongly preferred.
• Capability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours.
• Availability to work the school-defined schedule, generally from 9–5 or 8–4.
• Willingness to travel as needed, averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time.
• Experience working with the specified age group (preferred).
• Experience assisting adults and children with technology use (preferred).
• Experience teaching online/virtually and/or in a traditional classroom setting (preferred).
• Familiarity with online learning platforms (preferred).
• Ability to analyze and produce numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint (preferred).
• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms (preferred).
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum (preferred).
