This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• Deliver targeted course content in a virtual setting
• Provide instructional support and guidance while overseeing the learning process
• Concentrate on the unique needs of students and tailor learning experiences
• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to promote learning towards set objectives
• Facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities
• Differentiate instruction according to student proficiency
• Enhance course material utilizing suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools with guidance from principals and coaches
• Maintain the grade book and uphold academic integrity for students
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress
• Prepare students for significant standardized assessments
• Build and sustain a positive relationship with families
• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues and basic troubleshooting for virtual classrooms
• Travel as necessary, averaging once a month and/or around 20% of the time, for professional development, student assessments, and other school obligations
• Bachelor’s degree
• Active state teaching license
• Oklahoma High School English Teaching Certification required
• Must reside in Oklahoma
• Ability to pass required background checks
• Capability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
• Ability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during work hours, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school
• Experience working with the specified age group (preferred)
• Experience assisting adults and children with technology usage (preferred)
• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) or traditional classroom environment (preferred)
• Familiarity with online learning platforms (preferred)
• Ability to interpret and generate numerical, tabular, and graphic representations of student data to inform instructional decisions (preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint (preferred)
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms (preferred)
• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum (preferred)
• Typically work from home
