This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +46 more states.
• Deliver specialized English course material in an online setting.
• Create engaging and interactive synchronous learning experiences.
• Provide instruction, assistance, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.
• Concentrate on individual student requirements and foster a positive rapport.
• Utilize knowledge of the K12 curriculum, online education, state standards, and industry-specific learning benchmarks.
• Enhance course content with suitable tools and established procedures.
• Design instructional tools, strategies, and lessons in line with the school's pacing schedule.
• Regularly communicate with students via email or phone.
• Address student and associated school inquiries, typically within one business day.
• Engage in academic-focused meetings with school administrators.
• Attend regularly scheduled virtual staff meetings.
• Monitor and report on student academic performance and pacing progress.
• Produce formal reports and notify administrators regarding concerns about student progress and attendance.
• Organize orientation, training, social, and educational events for students and families.
• Create monthly newsletters or update the website as required.
• Facilitate student and parent orientations as necessary.
• Evaluate students according to established policies.
• Travel occasionally throughout the year for school events, such as state testing.
• Valid state Department of Education High School (9-12) English Teaching Certification is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of industry experience leading to certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Appropriate subject teaching certification is required.
• Strong knowledge of content and subject matter.
• Ability to support and guide both adults and students.
• Excellent understanding of motivational techniques.
• Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness and capability to obtain additional state licensing as necessary.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web applications.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Capacity to pass the required background check.
• Reliable internet service with a modem/router.
• Minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload, without competing household usage.
• Availability to work typically 20–25 hours per week, with the potential for more or fewer hours based on business needs.
• Availability during daytime business hours, 8 AM–5 PM ET, Monday–Friday.
