This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +46 more states.
• Deliver designated course material in a virtual setting
• Create engaging and interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Tailor learning and differentiate instruction based on student proficiency
• Enhance course content utilizing appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under the guidance of a principal and coach
• Manage the grade book and uphold student academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Notify administrators about concerns regarding student performance and progress
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Build and maintain positive relationships with families
• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional challenges
• Provide basic troubleshooting support in a virtual classroom setting
• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system
• Travel approximately once a month and/or 20% of the time for professional development, student assessments, and other school obligations
• Valid state Department of Education High School (9-12) English Teaching Certification is required
• Residency in one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C.
• Bachelor's degree
• Active state teaching license
• Capability to pass the necessary background check
• Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
• Capacity to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours
• Experience working with the specified age group
• Background in supporting adults and children in utilizing technology
• Experience in teaching in either an online or traditional classroom environment
• Familiarity with online learning platforms
• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data for instructional decisions
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
