High School ELA Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Deliver both asynchronous and synchronous instruction in various formats, including whole-group, small-group, and one-on-one settings.

• Ensure timely completion of grading, lesson planning, and communication with students and parents.

• Collaborate with colleagues through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to enhance and update Personal Learning Plans, assess student performance, provide feedback, and refine teaching methodologies.

• Acquire in-depth knowledge of assigned courses and a comprehensive understanding of the K-12 curriculum.

• Evaluate curriculum and devise alternative strategies to boost student comprehension.

• Assist students and parents with different approaches, daily assignments, and projects.

• Maintain regular communication with parents and students via the Learning Management System and phone calls.

• Keep up-to-date student records and data, which include cumulative files, online information, attendance, and contact details.

• Collaborate with teachers, school personnel, and leadership to create enrichment activities and modify programs.

• Work alongside the Engagement and Counseling Departments to ensure timely communication, track student progress, and help achieve goals.

• Support the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for the assigned courses.

• Create and foster a virtual school community.

• Organize social activities and relevant field trips, integrating them into the curriculum and participating in these events.

• Engage in the organization and administration of state assessments and school functions.

• Take part in student recruitment sessions and marketing initiatives.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be highly qualified and certified to teach Middle School and/or High School in Pennsylvania.

• Endorsements in English Language or multiple subject areas are advantageous.

• Must be a resident of Pennsylvania.

• Experience in teaching within a cyber learning environment is a plus.

• Strong technological skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Highly organized and punctual.

• High level of adaptability and flexibility.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

• Demonstrable history of being a team player.

• Willingness to travel for state assessments, school events, and marketing activities, including potential overnight travel.

• Availability to work occasional evening hours as necessary to support students and families.

• Capability to work effectively in a remote setting.
