High School CTE Computer Science Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver targeted course content within an online setting

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process and concentrating on students’ unique needs

• Track student progress through K12’s learning management system

• Collaborate actively with students and parents to enhance learning and formulate and supervise plans for post-secondary success using online resources such as Career Builder and Career Cruising

• Offer enriching and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences

• Customize learning for all students while upholding high expectations

• Differentiate instruction based on student proficiency

• Enhance course content utilizing designated synchronous and asynchronous tools under the supervision of the principal and coach

• Maintain the grade book, uphold academic integrity, make placement and promotion decisions, and notify administrators of student performance issues

• Prepare students for critical standardized assessments

• Establish and sustain a positive relationship with families, communicating with students and learning coaches/parents promptly

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting matters

• Implement State, National, and Industry Specific learning standards

• Create instructional tools and strategies to augment and enhance the curriculum

• Collaborate with the school and national professional learning community

• Administer and supervise certification assessments as applicable

• Serve as an Advisor for a Career & Technical Student Organization

• Assist the CTE Program Coordinator/school/program in establishing business and industry partnerships for work-based learning experiences

• Support a project-based learning approach

• Travel up to 20% for in-person professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid and current Arkansas Department of Education High School Computer Science Teaching Licensure

• Must be a resident of Arkansas

• Bachelor’s degree

• Active state teaching license

• Ability to pass the required background check

• Capacity to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week

• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during the workday

• Skill in collaborating with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data and utilize it to inform instructional decisions

• Open to receiving regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers

• Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure outstanding student outcomes

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum

• Experience working with the designated age group

• Experience supporting both adults and children in technology usage

• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or brick-and-mortar setting

• Familiarity with online learning platforms
