This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Collaborate with staff and families to promote overall student success
• Guide student-specific academic programming
• Develop and oversee graduation and career plans
• Offer proactive and preventative counseling services
• Implement guidance curriculum for individuals and groups
• Address individual and group needs through responsive counseling and programming
• Evaluate transfer student transcripts and advise on appropriate course placements
• Monitor and assess active students’ transcripts and manage credit award processes
• Provide career readiness curriculum and assist in creating career plans
• Deliver Social-Emotional Learning curriculum
• Establish and maintain Student 504 plans
• Analyze student data to inform suitable academic programs and interventions
• Travel across Alabama to support testing initiatives and school events as necessary
• Carry out additional duties as assigned
• Open to residents of Alabama
• Possession of a valid State Counselor license
• Bachelor’s degree coupled with one (1) year of prior experience in counseling and/or advisement, or an equivalent mix of education and experience
• Familiarity with the ASCA model
• Experience in K-12 online learning environments
• Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal laws, along with mandated reporting requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products
• Capability to manage confidential information with discretion and sound judgment
• Skill in handling challenging or emotional situations and making evidence-based decisions
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
• Competence in working under pressure while effectively prioritizing and completing tasks to meet deadlines
• Customer service-oriented mindset
• Ability to work autonomously and also contribute to a team
• Must pass federal and state criminal background checks
