High School Advisory and Social Studies Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Regularly consult with learning coaches and students to facilitate the successful completion of instructional programs.

• Enhance the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing and synchronous instruction.

• Ensure timely grading and conduct parent conferences.

• Communicate with parents, students, and teachers to create and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules.

• Provide constructive feedback on student work and recommend instructional strategies and approaches.

• Oversee assignment completion and guide special projects.

• Acquire a general understanding of the K-12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of assigned grades.

• Assist students and parents with alternative strategies and additional support for assignments and projects.

• Keep current student records and data, including family information, attendance, and contact logs.

• Collaborate with team members and staff learning specialists on enrichment activities and program adjustments.

• Develop and sustain a virtual school community.

• Administer benchmark and diagnostic tests.

• Participate in State Testing administration as instructed.

• Attend field trips and other community events for families.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Certified Kansas teacher with qualifications to teach grades 9-12.

• Any endorsements or licenses in 9-12 Social Studies.

• Candidates with a current teaching license from another state may be eligible if they can transfer or obtain a Kansas teaching license upon hire.

• Preferred licensure areas include media design, communications, family and consumer science, home economics, technology, and related STEM/CTE fields.

• Proficient in technology, particularly Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
