This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the conceptualization of studies, conducting literature reviews, and drafting proposals.
• Create study protocols.
• Perform statistical analyses according to study protocols under the guidance of seasoned research scientists.
• Present and interpret findings.
• Aid in the development of manuscripts.
• Engage in research teams and provide support for research activities.
• Synthesize, convey, and present research outcomes to Humana stakeholders.
• Conduct research focusing on comparative effectiveness, disease characterization, treatment patterns, cost and healthcare utilization, medication access and affordability, pharmacy benefit design, utilization management, and the evaluation of pharmacy policy.
• Currently enrolled as a final-year student or recently completed a PhD in pharmacy, outcomes research, epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, health economics, public health, or health services research.
• Familiarity with quantitative health outcomes research, analytics, and statistical methodologies.
• Understanding of causal inference techniques or relevant coursework in quasi-experimental methods, including propensity score analysis, inverse probability treatment weighting, interrupted time series analysis, regression discontinuity designs, instrumental variable analysis, and/or causal mediation analysis.
• Willingness to commit to part-time employment for 16 to 20 weeks starting in November 2026.
• Experience collaborating within research teams.
• Proficient in at least one statistical programming language.
• Aspiration for a career in healthcare research.
• Preferred experience with R and/or SAS for data management and statistical analysis.
• Preferred experience utilizing real-world data sources, such as claims databases and electronic health records, for observational studies and real-world evidence generation.
• Preferred experience in scientific writing and/or manuscript authorship.
• Minimum home internet speed of 25 Mbps for downloads and 10 Mbps for uploads.
• Capability to work from a dedicated space free from ongoing interruptions to ensure the protection of member PHI/HIPAA information.
