This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Develop and oversee a robust pipeline of new payment opportunities for healthcare merchants.
• Facilitate consultative discussions regarding clients’ needs in payment acceptance, processing, funding, reconciliation, security, and reporting.
• Analyze clients’ comprehensive payment ecosystems, which encompass acquiring, gateways, point-of-sale solutions, card and ACH acceptance, tokenization, funding, chargebacks, fraud controls, PCI compliance, data security, integrations, and reporting.
• Review healthcare-specific workflows, including patient collections, point-of-care payments, payment plans, text-to-pay, online bill pay, auto-posting, reconciliation, and EHR/EMR integrations.
• Create and present customized payment strategies that foster revenue growth, expedited receivables, minimized administrative tasks, enhanced patient and staff experiences, and improved banking partnerships.
• Collaborate with product, pricing, underwriting, risk, technical, implementation, service, and banking teams from the discovery phase through onboarding and ongoing relationship management.
• Cultivate relationships with Healthcare Relationship Managers, Business Bankers, Treasury Management partners, branches, and referral sources.
• Draft proposals, conduct demonstrations, build business cases, and deliver executive presentations.
• Track opportunity, activity, pipeline, and forecast details in Salesforce or other designated systems.
• Achieve or surpass targets for revenue, sales, approvals, activations, relationship expansion, client retention, and partner engagement.
• Stay informed on trends in the healthcare market, payment technologies, competitors, regulations, network guidelines, and emerging payment methods.
• Handle client and banking information with care, adhering to applicable laws, regulations, risk standards, and internal policies.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• At least five years of experience in merchant acquiring, payment processing, treasury management, financial services, healthcare technology, or consultative B2B sales.
• Proven experience in developing new business, managing a sales pipeline, and navigating complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities.
• Strong knowledge of the end-to-end payments ecosystem, encompassing acquiring, issuing, card networks, gateways, processors, independent software vendors, payment facilitators, point-of-sale solutions, digital wallets, ACH, settlement, funding, reconciliation, interchange, authentication, fraud, chargebacks, and data security.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned market or nationally as business needs dictate.
• Estimated travel of 25% or more for meetings and presentations that may necessitate in-person attendance.
• A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in payments, banking, or financial technology is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare payments or healthcare financial services is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with patient payment and revenue cycle workflows, practice management systems, EHR/EMR platforms, ERP solutions, healthcare integrations, and automated posting and reconciliation.
• Understanding of healthcare privacy and payment security issues, including HIPAA, PCI DSS, tokenization, encryption, and point-to-point encryption.
• Experience in selling integrated, omnichannel, or software-enabled payment solutions and collaborating with technology partners or independent software vendors.
• Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including the ability to review processing statements, assess pricing, quantify savings, identify workflow efficiencies, and develop a clear value proposition.
• Excellent client-facing communication, discovery, negotiation, presentation, and executive relationship management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across sales, product, technology, implementation, operations, service, risk, and banking teams.
• Willingness to drive 10 or more hours each week in the local market.
