This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.
• Accurately and efficiently process requests for release-of-information and medical records.
• Handle calls from patients, insurance representatives, and attorneys to provide updates on medical record status.
• Document information across various platforms utilizing dual computer monitors.
• Receive and manage patient health information requests in accordance with company and facility policies.
• Uphold confidentiality, security, and compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding sensitive patient information.
• Maintain a proficient understanding of company and facility software systems.
• Communicate with the manager regarding work-related issues, site challenges, and variations in workload.
• Oversee patient health records while ensuring their protection and integrity.
• Prepare new patient charts using both paper and electronic health record systems.
• Organize medical records in a standard sequence while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Generate digital images of documents for inclusion in electronic medical records.
• Retrieve and properly transmit requested patient records.
• Handle incoming and outgoing calls.
• Support patient walk-ins and perform administrative tasks such as faxes, mail management, and data entry.
• Achieve site-specific productivity targets.
• Schedule pickups and carry out other assigned responsibilities.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to travel between locations as necessary.
• Willingness to work overtime during busy periods when needed.
• Basic proficiency in computer operations.
• Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and other standard office equipment regularly.
• Possess professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance in medical record information.
• Strong skills in data entry.
• Ability to work independently while adapting to shifting priorities and role requirements.
• Capable of organizing and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Able to respond swiftly to requests in a fast-paced setting.
• This position does not qualify for employment sponsorship.
