This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Process requests for patient health information and release of medical records in line with company and facility policies.
• Uphold confidentiality, security, and adherence to HIPAA and medical privacy regulations.
• Maintain a proficient understanding of company and facility software.
• Notify the manager about workload issues, site challenges, and variations in volume.
• Oversee patient health records and protect patient information.
• Prepare new patient charts utilizing paper documents and/or electronic health records.
• Organize medical records in standard order while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Create digital copies of documents for electronic medical records.
• Retrieve and accurately transmit patient records to both internal and external requestors.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls.
• Assist with patient walk-ins and perform administrative tasks such as faxes, mail, and data entry.
• Meet specific productivity expectations for the site.
• Schedule pickups as necessary.
• Carry out other assigned duties.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to commute between various locations as needed.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods, if required.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills.
• Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and other standard office equipment.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Detail-oriented and focused on maintaining accurate and compliant medical records.
• Strong data entry abilities.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision and adapting to changing priorities.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Quick response to requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in a healthcare setting (bonus).
• Previous experience in production/metric-based roles (bonus).
• In-person customer service experience (bonus).
• Ability to cultivate relationships with on-site clients and customers (bonus).
• Comfortable presenting new ideas, suggestions for process improvements, and feedback to internal stakeholders (bonus).
