This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Acquire daily Emergency Department logs and charts for assessment and reconciliation.
• Ensure that all necessary documents are included in ED charts for precise coding and billing.
• Identify high-acuity patient charts based on their disposition status or ancillary services.
• Evaluate provider documentation for coding and billing standards, with a thorough review of high-acuity charts.
• Identify and record non-billable charts in the ED log.
• Reconcile patient charts with the ED log and verify all charts are accounted for.
• Scan, import, and transfer logs and charts within specified timeframes.
• Ensure the quality and integrity of data in communications and transmissions.
• Return incomplete or deficient charts to providers and track down missing charts.
• Resolve outstanding charts within required timeframes.
• Submit Inpatient Emergency Response logs and charts.
• Maintain communication with the Medical Records Assistant Manager.
• Foster positive relationships with providers and hospital personnel.
• Participate in departmental meetings when requested.
• Obtain completed Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9) and all required documents.
• Assist with additional projects and requests from the Medical Records Assistant Manager and authorized SG operational teams.
• Serve as a liaison between ED providers and hospital HIM Departments.
• Address patient billing inquiries by providing the appropriate billing company customer service number.
• Forward business mail, including insurance payments or information requests, to the corporate office.
• Attend mandatory hospital training sessions.
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills are essential.
• Proficiency in computer literacy and the ability to learn necessary software applications.
• Capability to identify technical issues and reach out to the appropriate support personnel.
• Professional demeanor for effective interaction with management, staff, and providers.
• Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision.
• Excellent attendance record in accordance with a pre-arranged schedule.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Capability to write basic correspondence.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting procedure manuals.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret written and oral instructions.
• Minimum mathematical skills are required.
• Willingness to attend mandatory hospital training sessions.
