Health Informatics Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee Aptive’s health informatics initiatives in collaboration with government organizations, utilizing data science, decision intelligence, and analytics to enhance healthcare operations and improve patient outcomes.

• Mentor and lead a senior data team, ensuring compliance with interoperability standards, security measures, and general requirements.

• Gather, elaborate on, and manage client requirements effectively.

• Participate in the establishment and management of new studies.

• Define technical direction while managing schedules, resources, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Provide leadership and team members with insights on technical tools, methodologies, and resources for conducting studies and analyzing both classified and unclassified information.

• Direct the application of operations research and data science techniques, including machine learning, predictive analysis, prescriptive analysis, optimization, and emerging analytical methods.

• Plan, forecast, identify, and define significant issues and future requirements.

• Investigate root causes, devise practical action plans and timely solutions, and pinpoint opportunities for process improvements and recommended changes.

• Assess the performance of decision systems, models, and tools.

• Engage peers and team members in evaluating performance strengths and weaknesses.

• Lead pilot programs and planned functional or technical change initiatives.

• Manage relationships with VA clients and strategic partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of professional experience and expertise in Health Informatics, Health IT, and/or Clinical Informatics.

• Advanced skills in Python, R, SQL, Java, Julia, Scala, and applications such as SPSS and SAS.

• More than 5 years of experience in advanced data analysis (AI/ML).

• Significant experience with data and AI/ML platforms (Azure ML, AWS AI/ML, DataBricks, Palantir, SnowFlakes, etc.).

• Expertise in software/big data tools including Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.

• Proficient in visualization tools such as PowerApps, PowerBI, Looker, Metabase, Tableau, seaborn, etc.

• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills (both verbal and written), with proficiency in MS Office.

• A passion for continuous learning in the evolving field of data science.

• A minimum of a PhD, Masters, or BS degree in data science, statistics, computer/information science, or a related field.

• Preferred experience in healthcare, research, and consulting.

• Expertise in the integration and support of Electronic Health Record Management (EHRM) systems.

• Direct experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs and/or Veterans Health Administration.
