Headless CMS Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Facilitate client discovery workshops and conduct stakeholder interviews.

• Collect and document business, editorial, technical, integration, security, and content requirements.

• Assess headless CMS platforms and propose the most suitable solution for client requirements.

• Create current-state and future-state solution architectures.

• Design scalable content models, schemas, reusable components, taxonomies, and metadata.

• Establish editorial workflows, approvals, permissions, localization, and publishing processes.

• Create integrations between the CMS and enterprise systems.

• Work collaboratively with front-end, cloud, DevOps, security, UX, and development teams.

• Formulate CMS migration strategies from Drupal, WordPress, Sitecore, or custom systems.

• Design architectures that support multilingual content, accessibility, SEO, search, and content governance.

• Generate architecture diagrams, technology recommendations, implementation roadmaps, and technical documentation.

• Present and advocate recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Convert business requirements into technical architecture.

• Identify technical risks and dependencies, challenging requirements when a simpler or more scalable solution is viable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience with headless CMS platforms.

• Strong practical experience with at least two of Storyblok, Sanity, Contentful, or Strapi.

• Familiarity with all four mentioned headless CMS platforms is preferred.

• Proven experience leading CMS or digital platform discovery initiatives.

• Experience in recommending and designing enterprise CMS solutions.

• Knowledge of AWS and cloud-based architecture.

• Comprehensive understanding of APIs, integrations, structured content, and composable architecture.

• Experience in creating architecture diagrams and technical documentation.

• Excellent client-facing communication and presentation abilities.

• Significant experience with headless and composable CMS architecture.

• Background in structured content and content modeling.

• Familiarity with REST APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, and API integrations.

• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.

• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue, or Nuxt.

• Experience in enterprise systems integration and CMS migration.

• Knowledge in content governance, multilingual and localized content, role-based permissions, and editorial workflows.

• Understanding of technical SEO, accessibility, and modern web standards.

• AWS knowledge sufficient for designing solutions, making architectural recommendations, and collaborating with cloud and DevOps teams.

• Experience with enterprise search, Digital Asset Management, CRM, LMS, marketing automation, analytics, or identity platforms is an advantage.

• AWS Solutions Architect certification is a plus.

• Certifications in Storyblok, Contentful, Sanity, or Strapi are beneficial.

• Experience with Next.js / React, Node.js, Terraform or Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and DevOps, AWS OpenSearch or enterprise search, Bynder or other Digital Asset Management platforms, CRM or marketing automation systems, or Learning Management Systems is a plus.
